Dennis spans Cape Cod Bay (the quieter side) to the north and Nantucket Sound (the busier side) to the south. They are vastly different in character.
The quiet residential villages of Dennis and East Dennis run along Route 6A and Cape Cod Bay. You will find captains’ homes, antique shops, art galleries, the site of the Shiverick Shipyard, the Cape Playhouse (the oldest summer theatre in America) and scenic Sesuit Harbor. Noteworthy restaurants, cafes and shops abound near the village green and quintessential white steepled church. The tide stretches for over one mile leaving extensive flats for walking and exploring.
To the South, West Dennis and Dennisport lie along Nantucket Sound which boasts a beautiful sandy coastline. There is much to keep your family occupied with souvenir shops, attractions and family-friendly restaurants.
